Swim in a circle around the lane, and be sure to stay to the right and keep your elbows high so your hands (and fingernails!) don’t hit people going in the opposite direction.2. If You’re Going Faster, Pass or Tap.
There’s nothing more annoying than being crowded by a pushy, superfast swimmer behind you! Don’t be that pushy swimmer!Instead, move to the center and pass the slow person ahead of you, or (at the end of a lap), gently tap the slower swimmer’s toes so they’ll know to let you move ahead. Slower swimmers, help the speedier ones along when they pass you: keep more to the right to make room (or stop at the wall to let someone pass).
